3 Japanese, Pinoy nabbed for human trafficking
(Manila)
– Three Japanese and a Filipino were recently arrested for illegal recruitment
by the National Bureau of Investigation.
“The NBI Anti-Human Trafficking Division said Masaka Hiratsuka, in his
50’s, Nobuharu Kobatake, 67, Teroo Tsuda, 48, all residents of Tokyo, Japan;
and their Filipino accomplice, Marcial Ronquillo Bernardo, were arrested in an
entrapment operation at the latter’s home at 126 Barangay San Pablo, Hagonoy,
Bulacan on July 30.” The four men allegedly promised women job opportunities as
entertainers in Malaysia and Japan. The complainants sought the help of the NBI
after confirming that Bernardo was not licensed to recruit or deploy workers
abroad. The suspects have been charged with violation Section 6 of the Migrant
Workers and Overseas Filipinos Act of 1995, as amended.
